Interviewed by Debra Pascali-Bonaro

Sitting in the hot, green jungle of east Asia, Monkey’s are flying overhead swinging from branch to branch excited at the site of the camera crew. New born baby Blue Bird lays quietly in Destiny’s arms as she stares straight into the eyes of her baby. Debra the director of Orgasmic Birth and author smiles with compassion rubbing her knee sitting in Indian style. The monkeys and birds create the beautiful background noise on this warm and cozy day.

So tell me Destiny why did you name your baby Blue Bird?

My father and I were in the backyard in Athens, Ga and I picked up my son Aiden’s toy gun to pretend hunt a black bird perched on a bird feeder, I snuck up on it and was able to pet it while it slept and I recorded it on my phone. Ever since then my father has always reminded me of this amazing moment and uses “touch a bird,” to tell me I can do the unthinkable and impossible. He then went to touch two birds and recorded it himself. My sons name is Black Bear so my father joked in the moving van one day saying, “what are you going to name your new baby if it’s a girl Black Bird?” I was fond of the idea and sat on it a few days and realized Blue Bird was more suitable.

And she is so beautifully exotic like a blue bird indeed. How was the birth?

I saw your movie Orgasmic Birth the best kept secret, and I just knew that the birth of Black Bear and blue bird was going to be an astonishing one because of it. My second go around I relaxed my mind, felt my body and allowed it to take me to new heights. I love being a role model for moms who didn’t know that birth could be blissful, beautiful and peaceful. Staying warm was important. No pain medication allowed me to bond with my baby after birth and get up and walk around the night of. Plus a lot of meditating with Tracy Holloways YouTube hypno birthing. Her voice is absolutely soothing.

No pain meds, what a way to go. Wish i could have been there. She smiles with teeth gleaming. A monkey runs up right to her and jumps in her lap.

Oh my she gasps and embraces it with her hands.

What made you so bold?

Definitely having faith in myself and pushing myself to become this new me. Especially while taking the master key system course Mark and Davene offered. With their help I was able to become a more confident person, one who had a purpose with everything she did and said. I didn’t want money, all I wanted was peace of mind and a firm functional lifestyle, one that I am extremely proud of  right now. One that I created with the help of the course and no one else. It felt amazing. Eating healthy helps, it boosts confidence that everything is ok.

What advice do you have for parents out there today?

Your children look up to you, I would advise you to take heed on that and be the person they are proud of.

How were you able to pay for your lavish lifestyle?

I bought a huge tent and wrote a theater play called “The green leaf.” I put actors together and rehearsed them and sold tickets for 40 a pop. Found the perfect venue for the performance and made it my Broadway extravaganza. The audience members loved the worm in the play and praised that characters funny lines every time the show was over. It was a huge hit. After that I began writing more plays; “The tin can.” Poetry is for romantics.” and my all time fave, “Harry Potter and Mary Poppins get married.”  I can still do everything I want without money but it would be harder and take effort. I would hitchhike instead of drive, secretly hop on ships instead of fly, live like Jesus. After a while I needed to work on my teaching yoga skills. An all time dream of mine. So I set up yoga classes in the tent, and had 200 people show up one time all chanting OM in the tent, the vibes were CRAZY! I had to have the classes everyday and people just SHOWED up. Like that monkey in your arms.

Haha I see.

You know there’s  a great bungalow down by the hotel we can walk together and talk some more.

They get up, Debra with her flowing cotton white pants brushes her britches off and walks with the monkey holding her hand and other hand in her pocket.
